An outfit for every day of the week 4/5-4/11

Monday: Wear a tight white skirt( 3-6 in. above knee) with a neutral tank and pin striped blue and white button down. Neutral heels of any height four inches or below or neutral sandals are good. Wear long thick necklaces and bangles. Hair can be in a high ponytail. Makeup can be natural with an orangish pinkish lipstick.
Tuesday: A grey V-neck, white blazer, and jean shorts or tight capris would make a perfect spring tuesday outfit. Sandals of any color are good.A nice accessory is aviators.  Hair should be huge waves and makeup should be yet again natural with bronzer along cheek bones.
Wednesday: A plain white flowy or tight tank top, white jeans, and gold metallic sandals with an oversized gold metallic bag is a nice laid back look for Wednesday. A nice hair style would be straight or slightly wavy with a few pulled back braids. Makeup should be neutral AGAIN with focus around a nice warm toned blush.
Thursday: A white ruffled silk blouse loosely tucked into a cute pair of navy blue jean trousers with a big black studded belt. Throw over your top a black leather jacket. Have a little black purse to hold your cell phone and makeup in. On your feet you can wear metallic sandals or high neutral pumps. Hair can be wavy and makeup can be neutral with a shiny lipgloss and a goldish eye shadow.
Friday: A nice look for a nice night out is a black tank tucked into a black skirt with flowers on it. A cute pair of brown T-strap platform sandal will top off the look. Throw over a black boyfriend blazer and a cute short necklace and your all good to go!
Saturday: Wear a LBD with black closed toe 3 in. heels and a long necklace of white pearls. Wear hair straight or wavy and makeup should have a nice orange lip stick.
Sunday: Sweatpants and a tank. Flip flops. No makeup and let hair air dry naturally to give yourself and your body a rest.

What look you should leave behind with the snow for April

Spikes: Sorry Rihanna, but your trademark spikes are now overused and causing Disturbia to spring style. It's more like a weapon than a fashion statement.

Oversized sweaters: They make you look sloppy and slouchy. Try a nice cardigan instead to keep a clean look.

Excessively Ripped leggings: No, you aren't keeping with the styles, your trying to look like you've been attacked by a group of yappy chihuahuas. This style was popular in the past year, but now its time to say good-bye and rip this look to even more shreds. Also, not many people's body types can look good in this so its best not to try.

Calf length dresses: Not only is this look extremely hard to pull off, it is just too harsh for Spring. Now that it's warm it will also be uncomfortable in the heat fro you to wear.

Fake lashes: First off, it hurts your real lashes. Second of all, it looks too showy and unrealistic. Everyone knows someone who goes overboard on the fake lashes and it does not look classy nor pretty. If you still don't want to ditch this trend, try applying clusters of fake lashes and putting them on rather than strips.

Work-out/shape up shoes: If they work for you to shape your calves/other body parts or not, they don't look very pretty. It's not really trendsetting to go out of the house with them on. Kiss these shoes goodbye!

Spring into this look for April

Dr. Martens- These low cut boot shoes are perfect for Spring! Buy a quirky color like pink or a floral print and pair it with a cute skirt, shorts, jeans, or basically anything! This is the new up and coming accessory that you will see everywhere.
Stripes-Stripes jump you right into Spring. It is perfect for any occasion. Just so it doesn't look tacky, stick to this rule. The longer the shirt, the wider the stripes. For instance, if you have a shirt up to your hips, the stripes should be an inch thick or less. For every three inches down, the stripes can be an inch thicker.
Neon Scarf-It can still become pretty cool outside in Spring so to keep up with brightly colored spring wear a neon colored scarf. It will brighten up your look on those cold days.
Bleached Denim-It adds a new refreshing look to your usual jeans. An innovation to your usual look that will make you noticed for all the right reasons. Bleached Denim looks great on every body shape, especially on curvy.
Floral Prints-What's Spring without some florals? Floral shoes, floral leggings, Floral skirts, floral shorts, floral shirts, floral hats, floral everything! Just don't put too many floral prints at once or else it will just all blend together and look like mush.
Beads-Beads can add a chicer look to anything, including tank tops, skirts, belts, and shoes. No, I'm not talking about beads you wear around your neck, I am talking about sewed in beads to the clothing/accessory.
Bangles-this dresses up and makes outfits more flirty. Wear it with anything and it will get compliments.
Jean JacketsJean Jackets are the Springs leather jacket. It works really well because it has a softer look than the leather jacket. If you want to wear it while wearing jeans, make sure that the jeans are a different shade of denim than the jacket or else it would look too tacky.
White Jeans-It adds a warm happy flare to an outfit.
Gold-Gold colored dresses will put the spotlight on you. It is a good color instead of the usual black dress.
Oversized Bags and sunglasses- Not only does it make you look tinier, it adds a nice laid back effect to your outfit. An amazing spring item that will never sit in your closet.

Clothing Store of the Month. Alice+Olivia

Alice+Olivia has evolved a lot since its start. Originally the line, created by Stacy Bendet, got its start by having the newly creative and original idea of low cut jean style pants in bold colors, textures, and patterns.  Many famous celebs picked up on this creative idea, and had orders pouring in from starlets such as Kate Hudson, Mena Suvari, and the Hilton sisters. The line was so popular that even world famous stores like Barneys and Fred Segal even started carrying the line. Now, Alice+Olivia has evolved into a line of cute, chic party dresses, slim fitting tanks, and modern chic outfits perfect for day and night life. Since Stacy Bendet used to be the CEO of her own website company for fashion houses, her Alice+Olivia website is one of the most chic, organized, and interactive websites I have ever seen. There is definitely more Alice+Olivia for us to come...and I definitely can't wait. Can you?

Designer of the month Betsey Johnson

“I never keep anything beautiful in the closet.” –Betsey Johnson in Footwear News, 2004.

Betsey Johnson is one of the most original designers in the born in the fashion industry. Every line she creates is filled with color, patterns, flirtiness, and whimsical qualities. She has been on the fashion scene for more than forty years. She is always following her own rules and doing her own thing. Her quirky attitude and whit make her one of the most successful designers in the fashion industry. Maybe its the fact that she does a cartwheel at her spring and fall fashion shows, or that her clothes are always filled with imagination and inspiration, but something about the combination of both make her an incredible human being. How does someone get this unique sense of style in their life?

Betsey Johnson was born in Connecticut on August tenth, 1942. She has an older sister named Sally and Younger brother named Robert. When she was younger, she was very into dancing. Especially the costumes. They fascinated her with great inspiration. Another vital factor that dance later had on her runways was her dance instructor. She taught Johnson how to sew. She also taught her that every runway show needs a theme, and a beginning, middle, and end.

Johnson went to college at Syracuse university, where she was a cheerleader. Then, she went to the Pratt institute. After her graduation in 1960, she moved to NYC. There, she won the mademoiselle magazined guest editor contest. That landed her a job as head designer a year later in a hot spot boutique called paraphernalia.

In 1967, she married her then rockstar husband John Cale. They had their nuptials in City Hall. However, Johnson originally showed up to City Hall in dress pants but was turned away because at the time City Hall didn't find it appropriate for a woman to be married in or let alone wear pants. To seek her revenge, she returned there a few hours later in a micro mini skirt. Sadly, after four years of marriage, the couple divorced. Two other divorces to two different men followed.

In 1969, Betsey Johnson and Anita Latour opened their own boutique called Betsey Bunky Nini. They sold it in 1979 to Linda Mitchell, who still owns it today. If you ever want to check it out, the address is 980 Lexington Ave,near 71st St. New York, NY 10021. The phone number is 212-744-6716.

In the 1970s, Johnson had the creative control of a line called Ally Cat. Ally Cat was a popular line during the 1970s, featuring junior sportswear under $100. This was a key factor in its success because the teenage market didn't(and still doesn't) want to spend their money on overly priced clothing. Her pregnancy with daughter Lulu was a main factor with her leaving Ally Cat. She had Lulu with a sculptor who she had a relationship for three years but didn't get married to. They started to separate eight months into her pregnancy. Lulu was born the same night as Johnson's childrens wear collection, but she said that the show must go on and it did. She had the show and the baby.

In 1978, Johnson finally partnered up with Chantal Bacon and created the Betsey Johnson Label. It was great for Johnson because now she had total creative control and was her own boss. Her first retail store for the line was in Soho, New York. In the early 1980's, Betsey Johnson was one of the first to open a store on Melrose Avenue. Now Melrose Avenue is an internationally known high end fashion street. Betsey Johnson currently has sixty five stores all over the world.

In 1999, Betsey was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She decided not to tell anyone about it besides her daughter Lulu. After surgery and radiation treatments, she was finally cancer free. Now she is a strong fundraiser to prevent breast cancer and has donated and raised a lot of money. A very fashionable Betsey Johnson item with 20% of the profits going to The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund is her Breast Cancer 3/4 quarter sleeve tee

Betsey Johnson has dressed hundreds of celebrities. The list includes stars such as Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Janis Joplin, Debbie Harry, Nico, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Amy Whinehouse, Prince, Mischa Barton, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Moss, Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, Lauren Conrad, and Blake Lively.

An Outfit for Every Day of the Week

Monday: Spring is finally here! Wear your hair in a teased ponytail with neutral makeup focused around a very faint pink color for your eye shadow with brown eyeliner and clear mascara. Wear a brightly colored oversized button down shirt with a white denim skirt peeping out from the bottom.  For shoes, a low open toe neutral kitten heel would be cute. Make sure you have a pedicure(recommend bright color) so your feet look polished. If you prefer to have your legs covered, wear the shirt with a pair of black leggings and no skirt. I recommend for you to wear a brown low boot with that.

Tuesday: Wear a nice off the shoulder yellow/orange/red shirt that is loose with a pair of white shorts and beaded sandals. Hair can be either up or down. I recommend that it is straight although wavy and curly could work also. For an accessory, aviators would work. Makeup should be neutral with a blush that has a sparkly tint.

Wednesday: Wear a *classy not trashy* camouflage tank top with a denim jacket over it and dark colored jeans with black boots. Since the shades of denim are two different colors, the look won't look tacky. A brown belt would look nice. Hair should be down and wavy and makeup should consist of a less in depth version of a smoky eye.

Thursday: Flower dress! Wear a casual flowy and floral dress with a leather jacket if its cool outside. Ballet flats or sandals will work. If you want to dress it up wear a pair of neon pumps. Wedges would make it too beachy. Hair should be down and straight, wavy, or curly. Makeup neutral with a shiny peachy lip gloss.

Friday: Wear a white tank top, boyfriend jacket, and black denim shorts. If its still too cold to wear shorts, wear jeggings. With shorts wear a sandal and with jeggings wear a boot.

Saturday: Wear a thin black striped(stripes shouldnt be more than an inch thick) shirt. It can be skin tight or really loose, with a big long dark colored scarf over it and a brightly colored tight mini-skirt. Hair should be pin straight or really curly. Makeup should be neutral with a sparkly moisturizer on before to give your skin a glow.

Sunday: Wear your hair natural and no makeup to give your body a rest to rejuvenate today. Wear a comfy oversized sports team sweatshirt and black leggings. Wear uggs also.
